When growing up, there was a TV show on KPBS called “Where in the world is Carmen San Diego?” it was based on this character traveling around the world collecting clues and solving puzzles.

In Japanese there is a concept of Kaizen (改善), simply meaning "continuous improvement” or "change for the good", and, in Judaism a concept of Tikkun Olam (תיקון עולם) "repairing the world".
